Chris Williams

President

Chris Williams is a lifelong resident of Fort Lauderdale and has lived in Coral Ridge for over 55 years. Actively involved in the community, he has dedicated more than 20 years to addressing neighborhood and city issues. Currently serving as President of the Coral Ridge Association, he has also held positions as Secretary and Treasurer and has chaired multiple committees, including Development, Social Events, Nominating, and Code Enforcement.

Chris was appointed to the City’s Budget Advisory Board, where he served for four years. He is a graduate of the City’s Neighbor Leadership Academy and Leadership Fort Lauderdale Class 1. His educational background includes attending Bayview Elementary and Pine Crest School before graduating from the University of Florida.

His priorities for Coral Ridge focus on enhancing street safety by addressing crime and traffic concerns, maintaining vigilance over development, and ensuring strong representation with key City Departments and the City Commission.

Christian Petersen

vice President

Christian Petersen has previously served on the Coral Ridge Association Board in multiple roles, including President, Vice President, Treasurer, webmaster, and QuickBooks manager for membership and association finances. Additionally, he has contributed as both a chair and a member of numerous committees, gaining valuable insight into the many aspects of the association’s work.

Christian has lived in Coral Ridge for 16 years, and has a strong commitment to the community, particularly in ensuring its safety and preserving the neighborhood’s unique character. With three children who attended Bayview Elementary and Sunrise Middle, and one who attended Fort Lauderdale High School, Christian has a deep personal investment in the area’s well-being. Proud of the association’s accomplishments, Christian looks forward to the opportunity to serve the residents of Coral Ridge again in 2025.

Linda Mannix Burt

Linda Mannix Burt is a Fort Lauderdale native and has been a resident of Coral Ridge and an active member of the Coral Ridge Association since 1995. As a Board Member, Linda would like to continue addressing key community concerns, including infrastructure, traffic, development, insurance, vacation rentals, and crime.

Linda is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the unique qualities that make Coral Ridge a great place to live. Through her role on the Board, she remains committed to tackling these critical issues and ensuring the neighborhood remains a thriving and desirable community.

Jose Ruggero

treasurer

José Ruggero has lived in Coral Ridge since 2016 with his wife, Kimberly, and their two dogs. Before moving to South Florida, he spent ten years in Stamford, Connecticut. In April 2023, he retired after 25 years at Gartner Inc., leading a global research and advisory practice from his Fort Lauderdale office.

Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and raised in Perth, Western Australia, José has worked in Melbourne, Sydney, and the U.S. for 19 years. He holds dual U.S. and Australian citizenship and is fluent in Spanish, with extensive international experience.

José has been dedicated to community service, including serving on a School Parish Board and mentoring underprivileged youth in Brooklyn.

In 2024, José began his first term as Treasurer on the Coral Ridge Association Board, where he has worked to improve its financial and operational processes, continuing his commitment to the community’s well-being.

Jack bascome

Board Member

Jack Bascome is a Fort Lauderdale native who has been a resident of Coral Ridge since 2012. He and his wife have two children who attend Bayview Elementary School. A graduate of Nova Southeastern University in 2010, Jack has been practicing optometry ever since, with his office located in Coral Ridge.  Jack is the owner of Broward Eye Care.

Dedicated to his community, Jack seeks the opportunity to continue serving on the board of the Coral Ridge Association, contributing to the neighborhood’s well-being and development.

Board Member

Marc Bloom has been a resident of Coral Ridge for 15 years and has served on the Coral Ridge Association Board for three separate years. During his tenure, he maintained near-perfect attendance at meetings and actively contributed to the association’s initiatives.

Marc has played a key role in recruiting new members and supporting various association-sponsored activities. He has worked on numerous community projects, including the restoration and painting of neighborhood entrance monuments. His dedication to the board has helped enhance the safety and prosperity of Coral Ridge, and he has consistently made informed decisions when facing challenging issues.

Committed to keeping the neighborhood safe, clean, and thriving, Marc is eager to continue serving the community and taking on the responsibilities necessary to support its growth and well-being. Marc is the owner of Affordable Senior Care.

Arlene Brochu

Board Member

Arlene Brochu is a native Floridian from Miami who has been a resident of Coral Ridge for over 30 years. Her family owned and operated dry marinas in Port Everglades for more than four decades, providing her with valuable insight into the workings of local government and politics in Fort Lauderdale.

Having witnessed the city’s evolution over several decades, Arlene understands both the benefits and challenges of ongoing development. She is committed to ensuring that future changes align with the best interests of the Coral Ridge community. With her extensive knowledge and experience, she believes she can be a valuable asset to the Coral Ridge Association Board of Governors, contributing to important discussions and initiatives that impact the neighborhood.

Doug Coolman

Board Member

Doug Coolman, FASLA, RLA, was a principal at EDSA, an international land planning and landscape architectural design firm in Fort Lauderdale, for over 42 years. He continues to practice as an independent registered landscape architect and remains actively involved in community service projects related to his expertise.

Doug has previously served on the Coral Ridge Association Board and is eager to contribute to the completion of the Bayview Drive Complete Streets project. As a longtime resident of Bayview Drive since 1972, he brings both personal and professional insight to improving the neighborhood’s infrastructure and livability.

Tony Docal

Board Member

Tony Docal has been a resident of Coral Ridge since 2001, where he raised his three children who attended Bayview Elementary, St. Marks, and Pine Crest Schools. Throughout the past two decades of growth and change in South Florida, he has remained committed to Fort Lauderdale, recognizing it as an exceptional place to live, work, and raise a family. With the region experiencing rapid development, he believes it is crucial to consider the long-term impacts on infrastructure, schools, traffic, and the city’s beaches and waterways.

Professionally, Tony spent his entire career in the global financial markets, primarily as an equity analyst and portfolio manager. For 23 years, he worked in Fort Lauderdale at Templeton Investment Counsel, part of Franklin Templeton Investments, where he managed global institutional equity portfolios for pension funds and served as part of the senior management team. His work required extensive research, analysis of economic and political trends, and strategic decision-making—skills he now applies to his community involvement.

Since retiring, Tony has focused on personal investing, mentoring, and volunteering with local organizations that provide aid to the homeless. He believes his professional background, multicultural perspective, and analytical approach make him well-suited to serve on the Coral Ridge Association Board. Over the past year as a board member, he has actively contributed to committees such as Security Patrol, Beautification & Parks, and Code Enforcement, and has participated in community events like the annual Easter Egg hunt.

Christine Fingado

Board Member

Christine and her husband Brian have been residents of Coral Ridge for over 20 years. Christine previously served several years on the CRA Board obtaining a grant for our community. She has previously served on the Museum of Discovery and Science Board and The Charity Guild of Fort Lauderdale Board where she is currently President. Christine practices Trust and Estates Law and specializes in self-defense martial arts. Christine looks forward to using her skills to benefit our neighborhood.

Jon Gundlach

Board Member

Jon Gundlach is a Fort Lauderdale native and has been a resident of Coral Ridge for over 50 years. He has served on the Coral Ridge Association Board multiple times over the past 12 years. Jon and his wife, Kristin, have two children and two dogs.

With a strong commitment to preserving the safety and cohesion of the Coral Ridge neighborhood—both east and west of Bayview Drive—Jon advocates for proper protection and patrolling by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department to ensure the security of all residents. Professionally, Jon manages several private family offices. He holds a B.B.A. and an M.B.A., having attended Oglethorpe University, Harvard University, and Nova University between 1986 and 1993.

Carolyn Lee

Board Member

Carolyn Lee is a lifelong resident of Fort Lauderdale. She enjoyed a successful career in banking, retiring as the Managing Executive of Northern Trust in Fort Lauderdale. Actively engaged in the community, she currently serves on the boards of the Humane Society, Henderson Behavioral Health, Funding Arts Broward, and as a board member and treasurer for her townhouse complex.

Carolyn and her husband, a physician, have been married for over 35 years and have called Coral Ridge home for decades. They share a love for sailing, skiing, and traveling with their dog, Hinkley.

Passionate about her neighborhood, Carolyn values Coral Ridge for its prime location, beautiful parks, and vibrant community. She is committed to supporting the area’s growth while preserving its charm. As future redevelopment brings both opportunities and challenges, she aims to advocate for Coral Ridge to ensure it remains one of Fort Lauderdale’s most desirable neighborhoods.

al massey

Board Member

Al Massey’s extensive experience includes many years of past service on the Board, including a term as President. Throughout his tenure, he has been a strong advocate for the continued beautification of the Coral Ridge neighborhood. A longtime resident, Al Massey has called Coral Ridge home since 1979, residing in the same house on NE 13th Street for over 43 years. Professionally, he has been a practicing attorney in Fort Lauderdale for 50 years and continues to work full-time with the Law Offices of Massey, Coican, & King, PLLC.

Beyond his legal career, he has been actively involved in civic service. From 1985 to 2002, he served as a member of the City of Fort Lauderdale Parks, Recreation, and Beaches Advisory Board, including several years as chairperson from 1989 to 1994. From 2005 to 2011, he was appointed by former Governors Jeb Bush and Charlie Crist to serve on the Florida Commission on Ethics, where he held roles as both vice chair and chairman.

Al Massey is also an active parishioner at St. Anthony Catholic Church, where he serves as a Lector during Sunday Mass. His decades of civic involvement have given him a strong awareness of the issues facing Coral Ridge. He is committed to bringing thoughtful recommendations, responsible decision-making, and dedicated leadership to the Board of Governors in service of the association and its membership.

daniel Mulligan

Board Member

Daniel Mulligan completed his first term on the Board in 2024. He resides in Coral Ridge with his wife, Jessica, and their two children, who attend Bayview Elementary School and Sunrise Middle School.

Daniel’s primary focus has been on the launch and operation of the Security Patrol program. He has worked diligently to ensure Coral Ridge receives the same, if not better, security coverage as neighboring associations. A key feature of the program is the vacation check service, which Daniel actively manages alongside patrol officers and the committee. Under his leadership, the program has seen great success in its first year, though he remains committed to further enhancements for the safety and well-being of the neighborhood.

The Security Patrol initiative was the driving force behind Daniel’s decision to join the board, and he looks forward to continuing his work on the committee while serving the Coral Ridge community.

Chuck Murawski

Board Member

Chuck Murawski retired from a successful, Emmy-winning career in Broadway and television design and later turned his focus to community service. His commitment to civic engagement led him to be elected to the city council in Palm Springs, CA, where he gained valuable insight into the inner workings of government.

A longtime resident of Coral Ridge, Chuck has lived in the neighborhood for over 30 years and has served on the Coral Ridge Association’s board for five different three-year terms. Throughout his tenure, he has been a dedicated advocate for residents, firmly believing that property owners should have the final say in decisions affecting their neighborhood, rather than city staff.

Chuck is currently involved in the committee addressing traffic concerns on Bayview Drive and 26th Street and remains committed to improving the quality of life in Coral Ridge.

Scott Tilbrook

Board Member

A lifelong resident of Coral Ridge, Scott was born in the neighborhood in 1967 and has lived there for 57 years. After completing college, he purchased his home in Coral Ridge in 1993 and has since served multiple terms on the Coral Ridge Association Board, including from 2010 to 2014 and again from 2023 to 2024. He also served as Vice President of the board in 2013 and 2014.

As a longtime business owner in the community for over 25 years, Scott has deep ties to the neighborhood. He and his wife, Chantal, chose to raise their two sons in Coral Ridge because of everything the area has to offer. Having worked alongside fellow board members over the years, Scott has gained valuable insight into how to best protect and enhance the community. He is eager to continue serving Coral Ridge and is committed to working collaboratively to maintain and improve its exceptional quality of life.

Tika Van Den Hurk

Board Member

Tika Van Den Hurk has proudly called Coral Ridge home since 2014, where she lives with her husband, Richard Peacey, and their three daughters.  With an extensive background in real estate, Tika has a deep understanding of property values, market trends, and community planning—skills that are essential for guiding the long-term vision of the Coral Ridge Association. Her work frequently involves collaboration with high-net-worth clients, developers, and local government, giving her a well-rounded perspective on the needs and aspirations of the community.

Tika is deeply invested in the success and security of Coral Ridge. She strongly supports initiatives aimed at enhancing community safety, maintaining property values, and fostering a strong sense of neighborhood unity. Known for her proactive leadership style, she values transparent communication, strategic planning, and ensuring that every resident’s voice is heard and respected.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Marketing from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, where she developed the analytical and financial skills that have been key to her success. Fluent in French, she is passionate about advocating for her neighbors and ensuring that Coral Ridge continues to thrive. With her professional expertise, personal dedication, and clear vision for the future, Tika is ready to contribute to the continued prosperity and security of Coral Ridge.
