July 5 – Delivery of new, blue 65 gallon “Mix it. Curb it.” recycle cart

On Thursday, July 5, make sure to have your old recycle bins curbside by 7 a.m.  Your old recycle bins will be picked up between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., and your new 65 gallon recycle cart will be delivered.  You may keep the old containers for your personal use, but after Thursday, the City's recycling contractor will no longer pick up recyclables in the old containers (in the future you can throw out your old containers  by placing them in your new recycle cart).  Also, please help out your vacationing neighbor.  If your neighbor's cart Continue reading

Mix It. Curb It. Recycling Program

This Summer, the City of Fort Lauderdale is launching Mix It. Curb It., a new program that will make recycling much easier and more convenient.   Residential recycling customers will receive blue, 65-gallon carts into which they can mix all clean recyclables.  Delivery will take place over five weeks beginning in mid-June, and residents may begin using their new carts immediately.  Old bins will be collected for recycling at the time of cart delivery.
