MULCH AND TREE GIVEAWAYS FOR FORT LAUDERDALE RESIDENTS
The City of Fort Lauderdale will deliver a truckload of mulch to your door upon request. Mulch helps save water, reduces weeds, creates attractive landscapes and builds soil as it naturally decomposes. This program also saves tax dollars as each load diverted for recycling saves disposal costs of up to $93 per ton! Here's the contact info: Cliff Bush, Tree Services Foreman, at 954.828.5788 or:
CBush@fortlauderdale.gov.
In addition, the City of Fort Lauderdale wants to help restore the tree canopy by donating free trees to residents. Hurricane Wilma destroyed 30 percent of the City's tree canopy. Planting trees is more important than ever to replenish the tree cover and restore the City's natural beauty. You can help by participating in one of the City's upcoming tree giveaways. Residents will be able to choose from a variety of native tree species while supplies last.
Upcoming Tree Giveaways
All giveaways will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and are for City of Fort Lauderdale residents only. One tree per adult with proof of City residency.
